High quality CNC-machined replacement aluminum mask for 5-speed Copens, with a black anodized finish, with a Copen embossed logo at the bottom.
The Gated Manual Shifter Mask was born out of the need for tactile feedback and mechanical presence during spirited driving sessions.
It’s machined from solid aluminum, anodized black for durability, and designed to press-fit directly onto the original shift console without modification (gluing it from behind is strongly reccomended to avoid risk of unmatching it from the base during strong gear shifting and to highly improve perceived feeling).
Built individually, each piece is measured, deburred, and finished by hand.
The first prototype was milled in small batches to test tolerances against the OEM plastic shifter surround.
Several iterations refined the spacing and edge profile to eliminate rattle and ensure smooth gear transitions through the gate.
The final design balances weight and rigidity while keeping the minimal aesthetic of the original interior — just with the solid feel it always deserved.

Very passionate about software engineering, on the spare time I like to tinker around other aspects of engineering and manufacturing like what you see here.
A proud Daihatsu Copen L881K owner since 2022, after some time I thought it lacked soul in some things and decided to improve on it, and quickly become another passion under my umbrella.
Today, I can surely say that's not just a car... but a representation of who you are as a person.
